Covid 19 Safety

You are safe at Wakomata Shores Resort. We take very seriously the threat that covid 19  presents to our guests very seriously.

We  have implemented a number of covid 19 protocols.

Cottages and all furnishings, appliances, dishes, plates, pots and pans and utensils are sprayed and fully disinfected .Bedding and all towels are machine washed and put through a very hot drying cycle. Guests will supply their own pillows and blankets.

We have implemented all dining room/ public washroom  protocols as outlined by Public Health.

We have implemented disinfection protocols for our jacuzzi, fish cleaning hut , all boats and canoes, dvd movie exchange and children’s playground.

We enforce mask wearing, social distancing and hand washing protocols all to ensure everyone’s safety.


WAKOMATA LAKE Remote, but road-accessible, this unspoiled wilderness invites you to relax and unwind. Wakomata Lake is home to a variety of fish species including Lake Trout, Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye and White Fish. For those anglers interested in Speckled Trout or Rainbows there are a number of rivers, creeks and back country lakes to explore. Wakomata, originally named Wakomatogaming meaning “Big Clear”, is a 6,100 square acre lake, with a mean depth of 102 feet. The lake features over 30 miles of shoreline with exceptionally clear water, long sand beaches, islands and coves. You will enjoy the fresh air and invigorating surroundings at Wakomata .

FUN ACTIVITIES IN ALL SEASONS The Wakomata Shores Resort has many activities available to satisfy the interests of all ages throughout all of the seasons. Wakomata is known for its great fishing year round. In addition to great fishing, during the summer months activities include; mountain biking, hiking, nature walks, bird watching, photography, canoeing and kayaking, “quadding” the trails or just “beaching it” at honeymoon beach located on the east shore of Wakomata Lake. We often take our guests out on our luxury pontoon boat and tour the lake ending up at the beach. Sitting around a campfire in the evening hours has a great appeal for everyone. In the winter the resort is hopping with guests who enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling, tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The wood burning fireplaces found in all of our cottages have a special appeal during the colder months. (see pontoon boat, beach, activities)

SPECTACULAR SCENERY Located in The Mississauga River Valley in the Laurentian Highlands, you will be impressed with the spectacular scenery throughout the year. The beauty of the fall colours are worth experiencing as the leaves on the Oaks and Maple trees change throughout our area. For all nature lovers bringing your camera is a must .The fall is the perfect time to capture the beauty of nature.

COTTAGES FULLY EQUIPPED! Our Cottages are modern and come fully equipped. (see Cottages) We also supply all bedding and all towels. Towels are also supplied for our outside hot tub and sauna, which are very popular activities year round .

RESTAURANT  AND BAR WITH ROOM SERVICE! The Resort has opened a Country Kitchen Restaurant which offers home cooked meals for our guests. Breakfast, lunch and supper buffets are offered when numbers warrant it. We offer a good selection of choices to everyone’s tastes on our breakfast, lunch and supper menus. American Plan and modified American plan packages are available for our guests who would prefer these options. The resort is fully licensed in the dining room as well as the Cottages. A good selection of liquors, wines and beers are available. Room service to the Cottages is available as well. Guests love to order pizzas and have them delivered hot to their Cottages.Housekeeping plans are also available for those who would like to cook for themselves. (See Country kitchen)

YOUR HOSTS Your hosts are Claire and JP (Pete) Louiseize and Roger Hawkins. The Resort was purchased from Warren and Mike Townsend on June 14th 2012. We have had a wonderful start meeting many wonderful people from all over. We look forward to the return of many of our guests who have become friends, as well as the opportunity to meet new folks.
